Fishing is my passion.

Any chance I am given to be on the water..... I am out there. It's not every ones cup of tea but for those of us who love to be challenged by nature and all that it offers, then this is as good as it gets.

Of course luck plays a big part in the success or demise of each trip. There is of course always a story to be told about "The one that got away" and of course, it was always bigger and better than previous catches.

This is my prize catch, a 30kg Kingfish I called "Big Daddy".

It took 30 mins to land from 300 feet/100metres.

Tokomaru Bay

This favourite recreation of mine takes place in the beautiful Tokomaru Bay, on the East Coast of the North Island. Toko as it is known, is situated 92 km North of Gisborne (first city in the world to see the sun) and 85 km South of Te Araroa (the most Eastern light house in the world), SH 35/Pacific Coast Highway.

I am fortunate to to have been living here now for four wonderful years, with my 17 year old daughter, Jamie-lee and my 13 year old son, Cory.

I am also the proud owner/operator of my own business in the form of a Backpackers, called Footprints In The Sand Backpackers & Accommodation.
